Enduring Titles

In his home town of Lienz (Austria) Alban Lakata isn’t known only as a mountain biker. He is also a heating expert, building oven type heating systems used in many homes. Changing direction, he then studied and qualified to teach physical education. In 2000 he holidayed in the beautiful Lake Garda region of Italy, where he caught the mountain biking bug.

The job titles were soon traded for that of the Austrian Marathon Champion 2004. More natinonal and international titles followed, then the overall lead in the World rankings, and a European Championship. Joining Topeak Ergon in 2009, saw him put in a great performance with Topeak Ergon USA’s Dave Weins at the TransAlp Challenge. As far as endurance is concerned, Alban is the man.
